The High Hopes Foundation of New Hampshire, Inc. is a volunteer based organization dedicated to granting the wishes of New Hampshire’s severely chronically ill children between the ages of 3 and 18.
For over two decades the foundation has brought hope, joy and light to the lives of New Hampshire’s very special children, between 20 and 30 each year, with the help of its members, people just like you, who donate a little time and energy for a huge reward: the opportunity to fulfill the dreams of children with life-challenging conditions.
High Hopes Foundation of New Hampshire, Inc. was created in 1983 by Jacque Yinger and Dawn Cavanaugh, two neighbors deeply touched by the community support they received to help send Jacque’s daughter Alison, a cancer patient, to Disney World. The trip was inspirational, allowing Alison to enjoy a happy vacation like any other child and see Mickey and Minnie mouse, her dream come true. Acting on the realization that no formal wish-granting organizations existed at that time for seriously ill New Hampshire children, and motivated by a strong desire to give back to the community, Jacque and Dawn set their fledgling organization on its current mission, “To continue making dreams a reality for the seriously ill children of New Hampshire”.
The High Hopes Foundation of New Hampshire, Inc.
is non-profit, 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
Headquartered in Merrimack New Hampshire, the foundation gets its energy from 35 current members, an 8-member Board of Directors, and one paid Office Manager: all dedicated to making the dreams of New Hampshire’s seriously chronically ill children a reality.
